Site-Responsive Theater
Fools of Sound and Fury is founded with the explicit goal of performing Shakespeare anywhere. From community centers to places of worship, regardless of denominational beliefs, our goal is to selflessly share these stories and ignite the spark of discourse.
What We Do:
We prepare Shakespeare plays in a way that is designed to fit into any space.
We perform for free and any donations are split evenly amongst the collective.
We respect all beliefs and are convinced that the works of William Shakespeare are universally applicable and a stimulating source of growth for both the individual and the community.
Performance Process:
We meet and find a performance date.
We collaborate with you to understand how to conduct a respectful and physically safe performance.
We arrive the day of the performance with enough time for a run-through of the piece to make sure that everyone is safe and that all actors are aware of the needs established in step 2.
We give a free performance for your community.
We engage in an optional talk-back after the performance.
If you are a church leader or parishioner we would love to connect and explore how we can serve your community. Whether through subsequent small group discussion about the themes of the play or the opportunity for church members to invite their friends, our goal is to use art to foster internal engagement within your congregation and create opportunities for outreach.
